Freedom Festival | Boogie | Recorded at the "Freedom Festival" at the Craven County Fairgrounds in New Bern, NC. We were headlining a 17 band festival and it is still uncertain to me to this day how it all came about ... I had not even touched a guitar in over a year ...but, it ended up being great fun and everyone had a great time ... The musicians were ... Greg Noble on Drums, Joel Cresimore on Bass, Mark Pittman on Guitar, myself on slide guitar and vocals, and Billy Todd on Harp |

3 Piece
Heavy |
Recorded at The Attic in Greenville in 1994 before we left the states to play in London, this is an excerpt from a free form medley. Strawberry Fields Forever is always a challenge to play in a 3 piece format and the ending of the jam lent itself well to leading into a version of the Hendrix classic. The musicians are myself on guitar and vocals, Jim Miller on bass, and Greg Noble on the drums. |

Rosa's Blues Lounge (Chicago) | Boogie | Recorded at TM's All Star Jam Night (1984) in the bad section of Chicago with the best blues. A good, spontaneous jam with good players. Don't know the names because I never saw 'em before or since. I'm handling the vocals and the slide guitar. Originally recorded on a SONY walkman but re-equed to give the proper flavor to an authentic Chicago blues jam night. |

Acoustic
Blues |
An impromptu acoustic blues jam that was recorded at Big Boy Henry's house on the coast of North Carolina. Later released on the album "Walking Back Down South". Billy Todd called me and asked if I wanted to go over to Big Boy's house for a friendly jam. We went and had a great time, with the able assistance of Jose Cuervo. Later, we were quite surprised and honored to find that the tracks from our jam could be heard on Big Boy's latest album. The words and music were made up on the spot. The musicians are Big Boy Henry on vocals, Billy Todd on harmonica, Lightnin' Mike Wells on acoustic guitar, and myself on slide acoustic guitar. |

Somewhere off of the NC Coast | Electric, Walking Blues | Recorded at the Z103 Station Party ... somewhere off of the NC Coast ... We were asked to play for "Banana Boat / Z103 party on the top deck of "The Continental Shelf", Since bluesman Big Boy Henry was in the area, I asked him to join us at the party. I called up Big Boy for the last set and we put together a one hour "off the cuff" blues jam for the crowd. The words and music was made up on the spot ... great fun! The musicians are Big Boy Henry on vocals, myself on slide guitar and shouting, Jim Miller on lead guitar, Brett Herndon on bass and Greg Noble on drums. Raw, honest, blues with great feeling. |

Lisa's Bar and Grill | Mayhem | Well, this was one of those unscheduled, unplanned, general mayhem jams at Lisa's Bar and Grill ... oceanfront at Atlantic Beach, NC. As much of a jam as a jam gets ... much audience participation ... Lisa really shines ... Lisa and the Lisettes steal the show. One of those impromptu jams that you wish that you had known what madness would occur so that you could have gotten the word out beforehand. |

Backstreet Pub | Blues | A jam that was thrown together at the last moment at the Backstreet Pub in Beaufort, NC. Musicians from Beaufort, London, Raleigh, and other parts unknown. I was taking a break from London and brought a fantastic London piano player - Bert Eden. Of course we went to the coast and Todd Humphries put together this jam so that my friend from London could participate in an raw, off the cuff, southern beach blues jam. |

Backstreet Pub | 3 Piece | Another off the cuff, spur of the moment jam that was thrown together
at a small pub in Beaufort while I was down at the beach. Yeah, Hey Joe
is a dittie but this was a pretty decent version.
I was on vocals and guitar, Todd Humphries was on bass and the drummer's name was Scott ... that's all I know. |
